Do This Before You Log In
NetEase blocks normal passwords in desktop email apps. It asks for an authorization code instead, and you can create one in about two minutes from 163 Mail or 126 Mail on the web.
Sign in at mail.163.com or mail.126.com. Open Settings, go to POP3/SMTP/IMAP and switch on IMAP/SMTP. NetEase confirms it is you with an SMS code on your phone.
On that same tab, create a new authorization code and confirm by SMS again. Copy it right away and keep it safe, because NetEase shows each code only once.
In our tool, pick 163 or 126 from Email Source. Type your full address, then paste your code into Password. Server details are already set, so nothing else needs filling in.
Login still failing? Check that IMAP is on, that you pasted your code and not your password, and that no spaces sit at either end.
NetEase Backup, Screen By Screen
These screens come from RecoveryTools Email Backup Wizard, the same program you download above. 163 and 126 sit near the top of its source list.

Choose your domain from Email Source on the left, or type it into search. Login asks for only two things: your email address and your authorization code.

After login, your mailbox appears as a folder tree. Tick folders you need, then pick what they become and where files go.

Ten years of 163 email can run into tens of thousands of messages. Filters keep one year, one sender or one project and leave everything else on NetEase servers.
Every Email, As You Left It
Backup copies that lose attachments or dates are only half useful. Each 163 email arrives with its content, its details and its place in your folder tree.
Save It, Open It Or Move It
One licence covers all three jobs. Keep 163 email on your own drive, open it in desktop email apps or send it straight into new email accounts.
PST for Outlook, PDF for reading and printing, EML, MSG and MBOX for other email clients. DOC, RTF and TXT suit reports, and CSV turns your mailbox into a spreadsheet of senders, subjects and dates.
Pick Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, Lotus Notes or Zimbra and output lands in their own format. OLM is there too, for Outlook on Mac.
Leaving NetEase? Move 163 Mail directly into Gmail, Office 365, Outlook.com, Yahoo Mail or any IMAP account, folders included, with no files in between.
Need only part of each email? Extract tools pull out attachments, email addresses or phone numbers and save them on their own.
Built For Big NetEase Mailboxes
Saving emails one by one from webmail works for five messages. For years of 163 email across several accounts, these features do the heavy lifting.
List every 163 or 126 address with its authorization code in one CSV file. Load it once and each account backs up in turn, with no need to log in again and again.
Your first run copies everything you picked. Later runs with Incremental Backup ticked save only new emails, so your archive grows without duplicates.
Set date range, sender, recipient, subject or words to look for. Skip folders by name, drop attachments or export only Sent emails.
Use Scheduler to run backups daily, weekly or monthly at times you choose. Scheduling needs an Enterprise licence, and you can test it during your free trial.
Emails travel from NetEase straight to your computer, with no middle server. Use Proxy gets around office or school networks that block direct email connections.
Name each saved email by subject, sender and date in several orders. Finding one message among thousands later takes seconds instead of scrolling.
Six Steps From Install To Backup
No scripts and no server settings. With your authorization code ready, your first backup takes minutes in the free trial.
In 163 Mail settings, turn on IMAP and create an authorization code. Keep it handy for step three.
Install Email Backup Wizard and open it. Choose 163 or 126 from Email Source on the left.
Enter your full 163 or 126 address. Paste your authorization code into Password and click Login.
Your mailbox loads as a folder tree. Keep folders you want and clear the rest.
Choose PST, PDF, EML, MBOX or an account to move into. Set your destination folder and any filters.
Each folder is saved in turn. When it finishes, open your destination folder and check its log report.
Two Ways To Keep Your 163 Mail
